The combination of EV-DOOH with Numbat has proven to be successful in a multi-week case study conducted by Numbat and the Feneberg food chain in the Allgäu region. The product advertised on Numbat’s screens at Feneberg locations experienced significant increases in sales.
EV-DOOH, which combines charging infrastructure and digital outdoor advertising (DOOH), is an innovative marketing approach. Numbat, a young cleantech company, has emerged as a market leader in this field with its pioneering technology that includes fast-charging columns and large 75″ screens. In collaboration with the retail chain Feneberg (the largest Edeka co-operative), a case study was conducted to assess the effectiveness of EV-DOOH in significantly increasing sales of a proprietary product.
The selected own-brand product was not discounted and had been available in the Feneberg range for some time. During the case study period, no additional advertising measures were implemented for the product, and efforts were made to ensure that external factors such as public holidays did not influence the results. The case study was carried out at ten Feneberg locations over a period of three weeks. To analyze the impact of the DOOH campaign in more detail, the commercials were shown on the screens 20 or 60 times per hour at five locations.
The results were impressive and met expectations. Sales of the advertised product increased by 25.15% when the adverts were played 20 times per hour. With 60 playouts per hour, sales increased by 39.33% compared to normal sales in this period.
In addition to advertising success, EV-DOOH is also the most sustainable form of DOOH advertising. Each Numbat currently saves 31 tonnes of CO₂ by charging electric cars with green electricity. “Effective and sustainable — that’s EV-DOOH,” concluded Uli Banker.

About Numbat

“DOOH works — this is once again impressively demonstrated by the results of this study at the point of sale. Numbat’s e-charging columns enrich our customers’ media strategy with an advertising medium that looks impressive and offers sustainable added value, promotes sales, and is becoming increasingly relevant for national branding campaigns.”
– Claudia zayer (Managing Director Goldbach)
This study demonstrates the direct impact of EV-DOOH. With our Numbats and the two 75″ screens, we bring brand and product communication to a place and context that has hardly been used before and convey the messages directly at the point of sale. The tests we have conducted now provide compelling evidence of the impact. The success motivates Numbat and Feneberg to further leverage the enormous potential of EV-DOOH.”
